Embryonic apoptosis-inducing proteins exhibited anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo

When a cell is ill and is no longer able to heal,it activates a mechanism that leads to suicide, is called apoptosis. In tumor cells in addition to other failures has failed also this mechanism and the cells that should go into apoptosis continue to multiply without control.
Some researchers have observed how embryonic tissues secrete proteins capable of inducing apoptosis in cells. So they’ve started to investigate whether these proteins can be used in cancer therapy.
Recent studies show how tumor cells are sensitive to these embryonic proteins and therefore it is conceivable a use of these embryonic proteins to induce the death of tumor cells.
